Oktoberfest festivities have already begun at Hofbräuhaus, and we’ll cover them in an upcoming piece. Leading up to the tenth month of the year, we’ve attended a variety of shows and events. Here are just a few.
Kiara Sasso’s BROADWAY BABY GONE POP at The Composer’s Room
Welcome to The Composers Room, a tavern and showlounge in the Historic Commercial Center. Here you’ll find a broad mixture of talent, from concert pianists to funk and jazz, stand-up and improv comedy to a Haunted Brunch.
This month, Brazilian vocalist Kiara Sasso made her Las Vegas solo debut at The Composers Room. A capacity crowd was thrilled by Ms. Sasso’s electrifying vocals, offbeat humor, and warmly delivered recollections. We gave you a pre-show teaser here.
Kiara Sasso: Broadway Baby GONE POP featured accomplished pianist Joey Singer. Together, they presented pop, stage, and Disney standards, many in Kiara’s signature blend of Portuguese and American lyrics. Celebrities in attendance included Keith Thompson, Philip Fortenberry, and the treasured Barbara Brighton.

MEN OF SIN CITY Debuts at Peppermint Hippo
The Peppermint Hippo Gentlemen’s Club on Las Vegas Blvd may be a “stripper joint”, but you can now add a sub-category of “Meat Market.” Model, bodybuilder, entrepreneur, producer, and entertainer A.J. Trunk (above) has launched a new experience at the ‘Hippo for ladies, and it’s a testosterone-fueled overload.
MEN OF SIN CITY opened on September 6th. It’s a blend of Chippendales-style production numbers with the bump-and-grind of gritty strip clubs. You can watch the show, tip generously for a seat-side lap dance, buy your way onstage, or disappear down the hallway with one of the gents (shhhh!). This is Las Vegas, after all.
MEN OF SIN CITY is located in Peppermint Hippo‘s newly renovated upper level. While males are permitted to attend, it should be noted that gay audience members may be sorely disappointed. Performers do not engage with other men. Not that they are obligated to…but it’s worth mentioning in an era when many other male revues are inclusive.
Peppermint Hippo is located at 1531 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Ample free parking and valet service are available. MEN OF SIN CITY performs Thursday through Sunday from 10 pm to 1 am (shows are continuous). THE WIZARD OF OZ Display at Palazzo Waterfall Atrium
You’d have to be trapped under a Kansas farmhouse not to know about WIZARD OF OZ at SPHERE by now. Even so, the publicity machine is working overtime, with estimates that the experience is grossing $2 million per day(!).

MY MOM IS HERE at Notoriety Live
They’re irreverent, colorful, maybe even a little wackadoodle…they also have an unforgettable name. MY MOM IS HERE is an NYC-based group fronted by Las Vegas native Samantha “Sam” Seiff. The band completed its first national tour from right here in Sam’s hometown. VEGAS 411 attended the event at Notoriety Live.

SOUL FUSION 4 at Myron’s, Smith Center
Rita Lim and her musical director husband, David Siegel, returned to Myron’s at Smith Center this month for the fourth edition of SOUL FUSION. Once again, the dynamic Ashley Fuller was featured, along with vocalists Alli Starr and Sina Foley.
