VEGAS UNFILTERED takes you from a BANG OUT party and OKTOBERFEST to a headliner experiencing ‘THUNDER’. It’s another PhotoDump RoundUp.
QUEEN SELENA star attends THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER
Alexis Park Resort has a breakout hit with the tribute show QUEEN SELENA. Its star, Mayra Alejandra, is relatively new to Sin City and is becoming acquainted with all the city has to offer. VEGAS 411 invited Ms. Alejandra to attend a performance of THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER at Excalibur Hotel. Did she enjoy herself? We’ll let you decide.
QUEEN SELENA performs Thursday through Sunday at 7 pm at Alexis Park Resort. Get tickets here. THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER runs nightly at 8 pm with an additional 10 pm show on Friday and Saturday. Head here for tickets.
Birthday Time at THE MARK O’TOOLE VARIETY SHOW
Singer and comedian Mark O’Toole is a prolific entertainer who’s probably performed in every hotel on the Strip. His variety show at Sun City Anthem (which we covered here and here) is in its third big year. Established and upcoming performers drop by to share what they do best, filling Freedom Hall to capacity every time.
The October 1st edition celebrated Mark’s birthday, with guests that included Marianne and Whitney Phoenix, Janien Valentine, and many more. Donny Osmond even visited, virtually (above), to sing and dance for the Star Search veteran.
The Mark O’Toole Variety Show plays every first and third Wednesday at 3 pm. Tickets are available here. Freedom Hall Theater is located inside INDEPENDENCE CENTER at 2460 Hampton Rd in Henderson.
Shiela Wright at PHOENIX LOUNGE
The following evening, Mark O’Toole headed to PHOENIX LOUNGE to enjoy the music of Shiela Wright, above. They were joined by dancer Richard Krizsa, who was coming from a Halloween-themed industry mixer (more on that below). Ms. Wright will be featured in an upcoming edition of The Mark O’Toole Variety Show. She regularly performs at Phoenix Lounge and Keith Thompson’s Piano Party at The Composers Room.
FILM INDUSTRY NIGHT at Lexi Hotel
Vegas-based film production really is a thing. We’ve covered numerous screenings, shoots, and networking events. Filmmakers Trenton Brisco and Johnny Molinaro host a FILM INDUSTRY NIGHT every first Thursday at Lexi Hotel. The adults-only event is free to attend. Each gathering is built around a popular theme, with October naturally being dedicated to horror films.
Trenton Brisco is a guiding force behind several youth-centric organizations like the National Youth Advocate Program and Briscotown. His friend Johnny Molinaro is always there to assist and support. You can learn more about their efforts here. The next Rockstars of Tomorrow event is listed below.
OKTOBERFEST at Hofbräuhaus with THE BRONX WANDERERS
The month-long Oktoberfest celebration at Hofbräuhaus is in full swing…quite literally. Celebrities swing the mallet to tap kegs of beer while patrons are bent over for ritual swattings. It’s all part of a German harvest tradition that includes food, music, and LOTS of steins. VEGAS 411 attended the 10/3 appearance by The Bronx Wanderers, who always bring an extreme level of frivolity.
Celebrity keg-tappings take place every Friday and Saturday night throughout the month. Upcoming guests include The Clairvoyants, Murray and Dani Sawchuck, Rick Harrison, Randy Couture, and the cast of MJ The Evolution.
Hofbräuhaus is located at the corner of Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue, just a few blocks from the Las Vegas Strip. Click here for reservations.
BANG OUT Party at Atomic Saloon Show
VEGAS 411 gave you plenty of advance notice about BANG OUT, the free party on October 4th by Spiegelworld at Atomic Saloon Show. If you missed out, it’s your own fault. So we’re going to skip the description and jump right into the fun.
ATOMIC SALOON SHOW performs Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Adults only. Tickets can be reserved by following this link.
