Movie Premiere Galas - Coming Soon

Las Vegas bolsters its "Hollywood 2.0" status with more cinematic debuts and a coalition of artists...

It's been only a few days since VEGAS 411 last attended a movie premiere. Already, three more titles are set to debut in the weeks ahead. A pair of independent shorts is slated for The Beverly Theater in the Arts District, followed by a romantic tearjerker heading to Boulevard Galaxy

First up on November 13th, a double-feature of independent shows created entirely by Vegas-based actors and filmmakers. Their pairing hopes to build Las Vegas as a creative force. The event includes the participation of @BTSLV and @feature

POSER is a coming-of-age tale set in Las Vegas:

"Seventeen-year-old skateboarder Jordan dreams of going pro. But when his older brother's gambling debts catch up to them, he's forced to grow up fast. Set against the raw, unseen side of Las Vegas, POSER is a gritty story about loyalty, survival, and chasing identity in a city built on illusion."

POSER is written, produced, and directed by Trae Rojo. It was created by a team of neighbors, actual skaters, and local filmmakers, demonstrating the power of movie-making when a community gets to tell its own story.

Playing with POSER is the debut of RAVEN'S ROOM, a noir-style dramatic thriller. Starring Candace Joy and Ryan Alshon (of VEGAS TRAFFIC fame), RAVEN'S ROOM explores the dark side of Sin City nightlife. It's directed by Jawsh Ojeda

Not much is known about the plot of RAVEN'S ROOM. Still photos from the official Instagram page build a seductive atmosphere of neon, shadows...and a femme fatale armed with a blade.

Tickets for POSER/RAVEN'S ROOM are $14 and can be reserved here. Showtime is November 13th at 6:15 pm. The Beverly Theater is located at 515 S. 6th Street in downtown Las Vegas. Free on-street parking is available.

SNOW FALLING ON PUMPKINS at Galaxy Cinemas Boulevard Mall

In the mood for a tear-jerker? Then head to Boulevard Galaxy Cinemas on December 3rd at 7 pm. SNOW FALLING ON PUMPKINS is a romantic drama that combines the timeliness of a same-sex relationship with the grief of a devastating illness:

"At 43, Michael is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. As memories fade, he finds healing through a Spiritual Cherokee guide and the love of James, the man who becomes his husband. Love proves stronger than time."

SNOW FALLING ON PUMPKINS is written and directed by Jeff London. The film stars Ben Stobber, Mel England, Barbara Reininger, and Rudy Ledbetter. Entertainer/director Ronnie Nanos (RING OF DESIRE) has a featured role as "Danny".

The film already held a Los Angeles premiere on October 15th. Those who prefer home viewing can catch it now on Vimeo on Demand and will find it soon on Amazon Prime. Ticketing information for the Las Vegas screening is forthcoming. You can watch the official trailer here:
