How to Zoox: The Driverless Cars Taking Over the Strip

Amazon’s Zoox robotaxis are zipping up and down the Las Vegas Strip, and here’s the kicker — they’re giving free rides while the company tests out the service. No steering wheel, no pedals, no front seat — just four cushy chairs facing each other like you’re in a rolling living room.

Zoox comes to you when you call.

I’ve seen a lot of wild things in this town — but a car with no driver? That’s a first even for even for me.  So how do you hop in one of these space-age shuttles?

🚦 How It Works

  1. Download the Zoox app. It’s free, and you don’t need a credit card (yet).

  2. Pick a stop. Zoox only picks up at certain spots — Resorts World, Luxor, AREA15, Topgolf, and New York-New York.

  3. Hop in and buckle up. When that cute little pod rolls up, the doors slide open like something out of The Jetsons.

“I half expected it to pour me a martini.”

💸 Why You’ll Love It

  • It’s free — and in Vegas, that’s a rare treat.

  • It’s quiet and smooth, not a jerky ride like some Ubers after midnight.

  • It’s a story to tell — how many folks can say they’ve ridden a car with no driver?

Zoox plans to start charging in 2026, but for now, it’s all on the house. So grab a friend, download the app, and go take a spin. You’ll feel like you’re in the future — only with better neon.
