An Evening at NOTORIETY
A few weeks back, VEGAS 411 told you about two scheduled performances from psychic medium Jeffrey Wands. I even shared details about my one-on-one encounter with the New Yorker, who rose to nationwide fame via Maury Povich.
I was able to attend Wand's Sunday night appearance at NOTORIETY, which drew a substantial crowd. The roughly two-hour experience was entirely audience-driven, with Wands connecting attendees to their dearly departed friends and family.
Post-show reactions covered the gamut, from amazement and tears to skepticism. Whatever your feelings about this type of entertainment, there's no question that it was engaging, memorable, and quite emotional at times. You can book a private session with Mr. Wands by following this link.
After a stirring encounter with the dead, we "crossed over" from NOTORIETY's "Chandelier Room" to the "Robin Leach Theater". There, we grabbed the last few minutes of VINNIE FAVORITO: UNFILTERED. The insult comic, who's somehow as adorable as he is abrasive, is always a great time.
Favorito has a controversial background of gambling and eye-opening behavior that was documented in the film VINNIE PLAYS VEGAS: The Con Man of Comedy. My friends and colleagues, Mike Weatherford and Corey Levitan, have explored this intriguing tale at length.

Speaking of controversies, the City of Las Vegas has chosen the worst possible time to raise parking rates. An increase of one dollar per hour has businesses and customers up in arms. Angry posts have been popping up on social media, some containing misunderstandings...or misinformation.
NOTORIETY proprietor Ken Henderson posted this response to the matter:
The garage is not owned by Neonopolis, it's owned and operated by the city...the $16 is for 24 hours so no one will ever pay that. The most you will pay for a normal show is $7. All talent who perform there are validated by Notoriety. No excuses, the elevators going down has been an issue sometimes but not often, but there are two and escalators if that happens. I'm not a fan of the fees but have zero control.... fortunately, when all is working properly, which is 97% of the time, it is very easy to go straight up to the third floor and walk 30 steps to the front door. Unfortunately, it's Las Vegas and as they do on the strip, but three times the cost they all need to make a buck.

RANDY RAINBOW - From the White House to Westgate
What's happening in the nation's capital is no laughing matter...unless you're a late-night show host or comedian. Musical political analyst Randy Rainbow has once again been given plenty of material to work with, and his show at Westgate Las Vegas on Halloween Eve was a winner.
VEGAS 411 covered the fabulously flamboyant Rainbow's career in this recent piece. So we'll jump right into the well-attended performance, which featured gifted impersonator/comedian John Di Domenico as #45, #47, and maybe #48? It was just the tonic we needed in these troubled times.

Halloween Night at The Garage
Halloween in Sin City is a blast, no matter where you decide to celebrate. This year, I headed to The Garage at 1487 E. Flamingo Road. Our choice for "Best Neighborhood Bar" year after year, The Garage serves stiff drinks and great food at very low prices. It also has the friendliest staff you could hope for.

The Garage is open 24/7, with Happy Hour until 7 pm and daily food/drink specials. The bar caters to a mostly gay clientele, but everyone is welcome and sure to have a great time.
