Try This Tokyo-Style Pizza
There is something unique about Tokyo-styled pizza. The pizza crust is bubbly and crusty, and its toppings have lots of seafood like crab, lobster, and even octopus. To experience Tokyo-style Neopolitan pizzas with a twist, head over to Double Zero Pie & Pub, a new pizzeria in Chinatown, Las Vegas.
The Tokyo-Style Pizzas
Double Zero Pie & Pub opts for a progressive approach to making Tokyo-style pizzas and pies. Micheal Vakneen, the owner and head chef, prepares the pizzas using finely milled dough that undergoes an extended fermentation process. The dough is then hand-rolled using unique techniques and wood-fired baked, resulting in a fluffy and light crust. The Tokyo-style pizzas come with various toppings. If you love mushroom pizzas, try the minimalistic one-layered base Funghi pizza. It contains mozzarella, browned mushroom toppings, and white sauce toppings. Here, the chef uses a variety of mushrooms like Truffle, Porcini, Chanterelles, and Portobello to exalt the final taste and aroma. For a taste of European street food, sample the Speck pizza. The pizza has salty cured pork, fig jam, mozzarella, and candied pecans to bring out its vibrant flavor. The Diavola pie opts for a salty crust with spicy sausage and red sauce at the top. There is a vegan option of the Diavola pie that comes without the spicy sausage. Each pizza sells for around $20. Guests can have their pizzas with salad and tomatoes or creamy desserts.
