Is There Anything to Do in Las Vegas if You're Alone?
Las Vegas is marketed as the ultimate group vacation spot. If you're not in a group, according to marketers, you're part of a traveling couple or family. Ads depict either some sort of fairy tale-level wedding where the bride looks like the topping of a gourmet cupcake or the debauchery that happens in Vegas right before that happy couple gets hitched. Think wild bachelor and bachelorette parties. Rarely are solo Vegas vacations highlighted.“What a lovely surprise to discover how unlonely being alone can be.” -Ellen Burstyn
However, there are excellent ways to have a great time in Las Vegas, even without your crew, spouse, boys, girls, hell – even your cat [not mine tho; where I go, Max goes, end of story].
Here are my favorite things to do alone in Las Vegas.
1. See the Neon Museum
What is it that you think of when you picture Las Vegas? Besides being so drunk and uncomfortable that you have to take your heels off and walk the Strip barefoot. I’m talking about lights, people. Specifically, the lights littered across almost every square inch of the Strip. What happens to neon signs when the casino is demolished or imploded? Or those signs for properties that are still standing but have been renovated, renewed, and rebranded? They go to the neon sign graveyard. Aka, The Neon Museum.2. Watch a Game at a Sportsbook at Circa
So, I’m not even going to try to act like I know enough about sports to get in-depth about why this will be an absolutely exhilarating experience if you’re an avid sports fan. But equipped with the kind of features that Circa’s sports book has [three stories of high-definition screens, high-end stadium seating, and daily stats and sports data analysis], it can turn watching the game into the highlight of your Sunday.3. Explore the Arts District
The Arts District here in Las Vegas has established itself as THE place to go if you’re a fan of art, as it is home to many galleries, vintage shops, antique vendors, local breweries, and even theaters. Additionally, on the first Friday of every month, the Arts District hosts the monthly event called First Friday, which features local artists, live music, and food trucks. And it's free! There is much to enjoy, view, scope out, and partake in.4. Enjoy a Solo Spa Day
The spa treatments you can get while in Las Vegas require absolutely nobody but yourself and the staff. While a spa day with a bestie can be fun, spoiling yourself by checking out one of Las Vegas’s award-winning spas is your ticket to truly check out and leave everything unrelated to pampering yourself on your solo vacation at the door.
