Expecting the unexpecting is a common rule when it comes to gambling, which is why a few wagers were placed on Los Angeles Rams defensive player Aaron Donald winning the Super Bowl LVI MVP trophy. What makes this unexpected is the fact that a defensive player hasn’t won the honors since 1986, when Lawrence Taylor won the award. There was also money on Rams player Jalen Ramsey to win the honor.
With that being said, MVP honors eventually went to Cooper Kupp, who finished the Super Bowl with 8 receptions for 92 yards, an average of 11.5 yards per play, and one touchdown to secure the win for the Rams. One gambler put 7500 dollars on Darnold to win MVP honors, which would have given the gambler 120,000 dollars, but Kupp had other plans apparently.
