Everything You Need to Know About Zippy’s Las Vegas

It’s been more than four years of waiting, but the Hawaiian casual dining legend has finally opened its doors. Zippy’s has opened its first location outside of Hawaii. The restaurant is best known for its famous chili, Korean fried chicken, and Zip Pac bento boxes. Their new location in the mainland is in southwest Las Vegas, at 7095 Badura Avenue near Rainbow Boulevard and the 215.

Zippy’s Delayed Opening

Zippy's shared its initial plans to open in Las Vegas in 2019; however, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We own the parcel where we intend to open our first location, and we’ve identified several other sites for future locations as well. We have already made a substantial real estate investment in Las Vegas, so we are coming to the market, just a bit later than anyone would have liked,” Paul Yokota, president of FCH Enterprise, said at the time.

Zippy’s History

Zippy’s was launched back in 1966 and has grown to become a renowned Hawaiian institution with multiple locations on the islands of Maui, Oahu, and Hawaii. Now that it has expanded to the Ninth Island, it caters to the needs of Southern Nevada’s robust Hawaiian population.

Zippy’s purchased the parcel of land at the corner of Badura Avenue and Montessori Street in Southwest Las Vegas in the Summer of 2019.

Zippy’s Opening

Upon opening, a line of customers and cars were eagerly waiting outside, ready to order comfort food favorites such as teriyaki beef, Korean fried chicken, hamburger steak, chili, chicken katsu, and many more.

Guests going to the restaurant can enjoy full service at tables or booths. Otherwise, they can order plates of rice and fried chicken or breakfast bento boxes of Spam, sausage, and scrambled eggs at the takeout counter. Guests can also order from the bakery.
