#4 Kyle Busch gets brutally honest

[caption id="attachment_76794" align="alignnone" width="403"]Kyle Busch, Kyle Busch Las Vegas, Kyle Busch NASCAR, Last week in Las Vegas sports news, Las Vegas sports news, Kyle Busch isn't happy with the current crop of NASCAR drivers.[/caption]

Key point: Kyle Busch isn't impressed with NASCAR's newest crop of talent

Kyle Busch tells it like it is, and that’s what NASCAR fans love about him. The Las Vegas native continued this trend last week after discussing his opinions on NASCAR's rising stars. Unfortunately, he had nothing good to say.

“People ask me all the time like, ‘Why don’t you take these kids under your wing and teach them and tell them,'" Busch said in an interview. "I’m like, we’re in a completely different era now. There is no fixing what we’ve got going right now with everybody running over everybody. They would much rather crash than win a race, I don’t get it.”

The statement is mainly aimed at Carson Hocevar. Busch claims he has had trouble with the young driver ever for years.

“So, the Hocevar problem," Busch said. "I was racing at one of his home tracks in Michigan with a super late model while I was a Cup guy.... and I was just riding, right? Like, you ride. He comes right up alongside me, sideswipes me, puts me into the front stretch fence, and goes on. And I’m like, ‘What the hell just happened?’ Never nothing after the fact, never a sorry."

#3 Las Vegas Golden Knights rock the Lightning

[caption id="attachment_76797" align="alignnone" width="497"]Las Vegas Golden Knights versus Tampa bay Ligthning, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas sports news, Las Vegas sports, The Las Vegas Golden Knights brutalized the Lightning Sunday night[/caption]

Key point: Golden Knights take care of business against the Tampa Bay Lightning

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are starting to look like playoff contenders again after a dominant 4-2 dismantling of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Everything popped off in the first period when Tomáš Hertl and Nicolas Roy both scored goals for Las Vegas. Jack Eichel then slapped one in for good measure to give the Golden Knights a 3-0 lead to end the first period.

Tampa Bay tried to mount a comeback in the second period when Nicholas Paul scored a goal on Ilya Samsonov, but it wasn't enough. Despite Nikita Kucherov scoring for the Lightning in the third period, they had nothing for the Golden Knights. Ilya Samsonov deflected 37 shots in the victory and walked away with a save average of .946%

“We are beyond excited to partner with Vegas 34,” said Nikki Fargas, Las Vegas Aces president. “Looking at the upward trajectory the Aces are on, winning two WNBA Championships over the past three years and playing in front of sold-out crowds night after night, this partnership with Vegas 34 will allow even more fans the opportunity to watch this incredible team as we strive for our third championship.”

#1 Geno Smith and the Las Vegas Raiders reportedly working on contract extension

[caption id="attachment_76792" align="alignnone" width="375"]Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas Raiders Geno Smith, Geno Smith contract extension, Last week in Las Vegas sports news, Geno Smith might already want an extension with the  Las Vegas Raiders.[/caption]

Key Point: Rumors circulating that the Las Vegas Raiders want to sign Geno Smtih to an extension

Geno Smith is the newest quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders, and he's wasting no time cashing in on that. The former  Seahawk allegedly wants a contract extension with the team despite not playing a single snap yet. He also supposedly wants upwards of $40 million for his upcoming contract extension. The rumored move brings back nightmares of the Raiders overpaying Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppollo.

The craziest part is that many sources claim that the Raiders will likely give it to him. Tashan Reed of the Athletic reported two weeks ago that an extension was imminent, and Vincent Bonsignore from the Las Vegas Review-Journal has even more to say.

“While the delay is a bit unusual, we can pretty much rule out any major red flags," Bonsignore wrote in a recent column. "The Raiders announced the trade for Smith on March 13. That means he passed his physical. Otherwise, the trade would have been rescinded."
